UNDER was a smaller print release featuring two new artworks, Scratching The Surface and Escape, which explore the theme of ocean pollution. The pieces symbolize the risk of drowning in our own waste if the problem is ignored – a struggle many animals already face. The artwork delivers this message in a dramatic way to emphasize that we, too, could drown in our own trash if we continue as we do. In the exhibition’s installation, a fishing net rescued from the sea by Fjordane Friluftsråd in Solund was used. This net was floating just below the surface, where it could have entangled the propellers of a larger ship and created dangerous situations.
This series aims to open people's eyes and reveal that, even though we may not see what lies below the surface, it can harm us more than we might think.
