MODE DIAL
Mode Dial is a custom-designed accessory for Porsche steering wheels, created to add a subtle yet distinctive finishing touch to the interior. The product is a precision-engineered 3D-printed cover that installs directly onto the factory drive mode selector, allowing owners to match the color with exterior paint, seat belts, stitching, interior accents, or other personal details throughout the vehicle.
Design Inspiration
The concept draws inspiration from motorsport and Porsche Cup race cars, where controls and buttons are often highlighted with contrasting colors to improve visibility and allow drivers to identify functions through peripheral vision while maintaining focus on the road.
CGI Production
For this project, ENGWIND was responsible for the complete visual development and production of all CGI content. This included 3D modeling, texturing, lighting, animation, rendering, and post-production. The animations were created as illustrative product films, designed to showcase the simplicity of installation while highlighting the product's design, functionality, and integration within the Porsche interior.
Tools & Workflow
All assets were created in Autodesk 3ds Max and rendered using Corona Renderer, with a strong focus on photorealism, premium materials, and cinematic presentation.
